Virginia Farm Bureau recognizes Rappahannock News’ agriculture coverage
The Virginia Farm Bureau on Tuesday recognized the Rappahannock News as having the most comprehensive coverage of agriculture when stacked up against other weekly newspapers in the state. The award was presented to the newspaper’s sta at the Farm Bureau’s annual conference held this year at the famous Greenbrier Hotel in West Virginia.
“The paper’s coverage in the past year has included a feature on organic produce farming on a historic property; a meticulous analysis of the county’s real estate tax; the insights of a rising generation of cattle producers; a look at the county high school’s thriving FFA program; the return of an annual county farm tour; and the success of local butchering classes,” the Farm Bureau said in a news release.
